Day 13 Spent a day at the 100 YEN PLAZA

Woke up to SUNSHINE this morning : -) This makes me smile as I look out the window and see Utsunomiya, so much better than SNOW and Cold. i opened up the window just to get some fresh air and let the sun shine in on me.......awwwwwww love the warmth of the sun........thank you Jesus for another day......... : -)

My friend Belinda has not been feeling well and slept in today. She has started getting headaches and her stomach is bothering her. So hope she gets feeling better soon. I have really enjoyed being with her its like we picked up where we left off many years ago. : -) Today I decided i wanted to go to a 100 Yen Plaza over by Chef Bob's and talked with Belinda. Sounded good to her so that was going to be our plans for the day.

We have a map and are going to find our way to the plaza. We walked around but could not find the location. The maps aren't kept up to date and are not exact. I ask some guy that was standing out in front of a office supply place if he could give us directions and he pointed back up the street and said K is where its located. So the tall building with the K on it was the location of the 100 Yen Plaza. So the 100 yen plaza is inside the grocery on the 2nd floor. : -0

We made our way to the store marked with a K and went up to the 2nd floor. Our mouths fell open when we seen the size of the store. WOW WOW WOW is all I can say, we each got us a cart and took off down the aisles looking at everything. There was tons and tons of stuff to look at .........awesome. I bought a few things for the grandkids and something for Audy my step daughter. We spent 3 hours in this store, I told Belinda man I'm hungry and she looked at her watch it was 2pm. No wonder I'm hungry and she was getting light headed and getting another headache. We paid for our stuff and left so we could find some gyoza for lunch.

We saw on the map a place that had gyoza close to where we are. We walked across the street and there was a little shop that looked like you had to order outside but then there was no place to sit and eat your food. I looked in the door and there were people sitting in there so I told Belinda lets go in. Opened the door to a nice greeting and she sat us at a table with another lady whom was by herself. She was almost finished eating no problem with me.

Once seated we told the waitress we just wanted an order of gyoza each and water. The food was brought immediately. For such a small place that only seated 10 at the most the food was great. This so far has been the cheapest place we have found gyoza, it was only $2.40 for 6 great price they generally run 6 for $3.80...... Left there with our bellies full nice lunch. Headed back to the hotel now, its 3pm, Belinda needs to take some aspirin and lay down before the guys get home.

On the way home Belinda wanted to stop and get a crepe that Rick her hubby said was so tasty. The crepes are made on the last floor of La La Square. The minute we got close to La La Square I heard something that made me smile immediately. Marlon had told me that la la square Mall has always had these announcements over the loud speaker but at the end of what ever they were announcing they would end it by saying LAAAAAA LAAAAAAAAAAA I did get this on recording and everytime I listen to it I laugh.

Met a nice couple while in in la la square, they were married and were both school teachers who were on spring break. He was from Australia and she was from Japan they have lived in both places and love them both. Its been so awesome meeting so many different people during our visit here in Japan.

We went to the basement and found the crepe store. Your mouth is going to start watering here goes, crepe topped with cream, banana, strawberries, hot chocolate syprup drizzled over that and then nuts sprinkled over all. The girl then rolled in up , it looked like a huge drum stick with pretty pink paper wrapped around it. Belinda got a crepe with cream, chocolate icecream and chocolate syrup drizzled on it. We took our desserts and went outside to eat them on a bench so we could enjoy the beautiful weather we are having today. Finally we are headed back to the hotel and now its 4pm.

Rick got home early but Marlon worked later again he arrived home at 8pm. We decided to eat at a place called La Paulsa which sells Italian foods. The place was packed with people but didn't take very long to be seated, Tony G walked over with us he was ordering a pizza to go.

Ran into Rick and Belinda they had eaten at the Chicken taco place, guess Rick didn't think they gave you enough food for the money. I disagree, I think they give you enough food and good quality food. ; -0

We sat down at the restaurant and ordered us a large pizza and a salad that Bill R had recommended right before we left the hotel. It was a bed of lettuce with some of the absolutely great potato salad in the middle. The salad had french dressing on it also along with some tomatoes around the sides of the bowl which were cut in 1/2. I'm just trying to say the salad is something i would love to have again be great to buy just for a lunch. : -)

its 9pm and Marlon is tired so we go directly to our room and find out we have no PJ's to put on the maid must have forgot to put them on our bed. I called down to the front desk and explained to her which took me a while but when she understood what i was saying she started apologizing right away. She ran them up to our room quickly and bowed as she handed them to me. End of another great day in Japan.

Talked with Yuri today on line and we are going to meet her Sunday at the Ueno train station in front of the big panda bear. Yuri is a friend I made on Facebook that lives in Tokyo. We are spending Sat and Sat night in Tokyo and then Sunday getting up to meet Yuri. Sat will be spent with the group.
