Koblenz Viking Christmas Market River Cruise

Koblenz, Germany, is a city situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel Rivers (the French spell it Moselle). The narrow point of land in Koblenz that divides the rivers is called the Deutsches Eck (German Corner). A massive statue of Emperor Wilhelm I on horseback lords it over the Eck.
We are walking towards the Ludwig Museum. We did not go inside the museum but we did tour around the gardens.

The garden had a couple sculptures one was the “Kelly Bag” by Hermés, made famous by Grace Kelly. The classic orange of this handbag finds expression in the rusty surface of the sculpture. Next to it is a Chanel No. 5 bottle with the word “Change” embossed on it.
The thumb of César himself was molded into the present sculpture.
At Deutsches Eck (German Corner) we were told that these are  3 of the original concrete components of the Berlin Wall.
The Basilica of St Castor is the oldest surviving church in Koblenz.

Protestant parish church in the city center of Koblenz.
the “ALTE KAUF- UND DANZHAUS” was a central building on the square, known as the eye roller, which is a landmark of the city.

The most famous statue is of a little prankster who periodically spits on unsuspecting tourists from his fountain perch on Willi-Hörter-Platz. The base of the fountain, built in 1941, contains sculptures of young boys engaged in other mischief, such as smoking, fighting, and mocking their elders. An inscription identifies the mischievous Schängel as the symbol of the town, and he graces manhole covers all across the town.

We have arrived at the Christmas Market of Koblenz.  Viking had our tour guide get us some warm candied almonds at the market.  What a nice surprise. lk about yummy they are delicious and smell so good.
