We have decided to go birding and have figured out how to get to West Valley Bird & Wildlife area in Kalispell MT. We tried to find it yesterday but the address was wrong!! The drive is absolutely beautiful. Round bales of hay in most of the fields, the view of town is clear. We have reached our destination and I am amazed at how many birds and ducks are there. The pond and telephone wires were full of birds and geese. You could not get close to it because it was on private property.

We drove into Whitefish to get dinner at a Chinese restrarant and it was delicious. Best I've ever had in a long time. After eating we were hunting for the wildlife preserve that was supposed to be at edge of town. Instead of finding the preserve we found the Amtrak station and museum.

We spotted a state park not far from our condo called Les Mason State Park. The signs led us down a gravel road lined with pine trees and ended in a parking lot. We ventured down a path that led us to Whitefish Lake. The shore line was sand and gravel mixture with lots of nice cement picnic tables to sit and enjoy the sunrise/sunset.
