Lady And The Tramp Filming in Savannah GA

Walking towards the area that is filming "Lady and The Tramp".  The streets are covered with dirt and sand.  Old antique cars and trucks are covered up sitting along the streets.  The crew is busy setting up props and lighting, this street is hustling with lots of activity.
Mrs. Wilkes famous restaurant is located on Jones St. but this has not stopped the tourist from standing in line to eat lunch here.

The crew is filming a remake of Lady And The Tramp.
Dog Pound truck is covered for now but will be in action soon as they start the filming in this area.

Rooftop Views Savannah GA

Upon arrival to our stay at the Holiday Inn Savannah Historic District we were immediately checked in.  Only thing I didn't like was the $30 a day parking which I think is steep.  We were treated great at the front desk and received a bag with 2 bottles of water.
After unpacking and resting a few, everyone decided to go up to the rooftop pool to get some pool time and enjoy the view.  The pool water was cold compared to what we are used to at The Villages but still managed to get in.

. Time to get out of the pool and watch the big ships come down the river.  The view is just amazing.

 Sunrise

Loved the view, enjoyed watching the big container boats come in.  Lots of tugboats ready to help guide any vessel that came down the Savannah River.
Looks like this big ship barely made it under the bridge.

Old Town Trolley Bus Savannah, GA

The first day in Savannah, GA and we have decided to take the hop on hop off trolley bus around town.  Rode the bus and listened to all the information that the tour guide gave us about each stop. Rode on the Old Town Trolley bus.

The trolley took us down a cobblestone road by the river, rough ride LOL.
We got off the trolley and walked around down by the Savannah River.

Stopped in to sample some honey  at the Honey Bee Savannah Store.

Visited the Market Place down by the river.

Decided to eat lunch while down on the river.  Marlon and I had eaten before at Huey's Southern Cafe and knew it would be a good place to eat with a great view. :-) Mickey treated everyone to a special treat of  "Beignets".  Totally delicious!!
Back on the bus for some more touring.
Haint Blue is painted on ceilings, window trim and sometimes doors in Southern states.  Folklore has it that the word "Haint" is a southern variation of the word "haunt" refers to a ghost or a spirit.
"Blue represented water, and apparently spirits can't traverse water".  People would paint the ceilings, the window trim to keep the spirits away.

 Visited the Girl Scouts Headquarters.
Beautiful squares throughout Savannah, GA.  THis town is just full of history.

Back on the trolley to venture towards our van, its time to check in to Holiday Inn on 520 West Bryan Street, Savannah, GA. 31401
