The Best Illumination In Japan- Nobuko

A fun-filled day with Nobuko!
Arrival to Ashikaga City, this is the manhole cover for the city.
I am feeling very anxious as this illumination is supposed to be the best in Japan.  I'm feeling very lucky to be here, it's my first time to see the illumination.
The name for this year's illumination is called Flower Fantasy.
As we got closer to where generally wisteria hangs in the spring we saw hundreds of Christmas lights hanging.  The lights changed colors and lovely Christmas music was playing to the blinking lights.
A small video of illumination.
My friend Nobuko and I climbed inside the Cinderella carriage for a picture of memories from our visit together.
The floating poinsettias on the pond were being watered before the crowds arrived.  A lady was dipping them in the pond water to give them a drink.
I enjoyed watching this display of the 4 seasons of Japan and how each season is so special to them. Click the link to see the small video.

Oh, Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree such pleasure do you bring me.

 Amazing tunnels of lights

At this location, you could pay to have a photo taken in front of the flower castle.  Click the link to see the short video.

The gardens were full of real flowers and some fake glowing flowers.  The aroma of the fresh flowers was so pleasing.
OH, my goodness, the reflection is so awesome.
THE LOVE OF MY LIFE - MARLON CHARLES I LOVE YOU!! Thanks for the best trip EVER.
Nobuko standing under the wisteria lights listening to the Christmas music and enjoying the atmosphere.

Nobuko bought me a grape sucker that had a light on it, how awesome!!

More tunnels of lights this is a representation of white wisteria that comes in the spring.

Ashikaga Flower Park~ Day 1 of Golden Week

We have spent the night at Ric and Teresa's and in the morning we leave for Golden Week at 6am.  I am so excited to be going with such a wonderful couple and best friends.  Breakfast was eaten and car loaded and Ric in behind the wheel to drive us to our Golden Week adventure. This year the weekends are placed in a way that creates two 3 day holiday periods and a regular weekend each separated by single regular weekdays. Golden week is generally abbreviated GW.
When we reached our first destination it was a place called Ashika Flower park and the wisteria are in bloom.  I have always wanted to see this park during this timing.  Tears came to my eyes when Teresa told me where we were.  What a fantastic way to start off the Golden week.  Thanks, Ric and Teresa for letting us share this awesome experience with you.  The Japanese love flowers and wisteria are among their favorites. Wisteria is called fuji in Japanese, like Mt. Fuji, but unlike the mountain, the flower is pronounced by stressing the second syllable. One large fuji tree is 100 years old and its branches are supported.  The love and care put into making sure all the flowering trees are healthy amazes meup. So much love is put into every flower and tree.  What a blessed surprise to see  Yoko and her Mother while touring the most beautiful park in the world.

This is for my baby sister Jennifer who loves the snowball plant.

Ended the day at the flower park with a delicious tasting wisteria flavored icecream cone. YUMMY
