Nijo Castle- Cedar Tree Trivia-JBT Sunrise Tour

This world heritage site was the home of Tokugawa Ieyasu, one of the most powerful men in Japan. The castle was built as a residence and not for defense purposes. However, to protect the shogun from enemies, special creaky floorboards were installed to warn of anyone approaching.  The sound 
The sound was that of birds chirping.



















Many beautiful gardens to stroll around.












 
 Did you know that if cedar trees trunk is RED is it a female and if it's BLACK its a male? 
  Time for lunch so we are back on the bus going to Kyoto train station to eat at a restaurant nearby.
