Shibuya Scramble Crossing in Tokyo

Our breakfast to start the day.  They put ketchup on the eggs LOL we ate them and liked it.  When you order you can't break the set.  If the picture shows it comes with ketchup then that's what you get!!!

Shibuya Scramble Crossing Tokyo

Shibuya is known as Tokyo's most trendy district and its home to many shopping malls, cafes, and restaurants.  The crossing and the surrounding area often become a place for an unofficial street celebration with Halloween being the most notable one.  When we were there the streets were being blocked off and there were lots and lots of young people wearing costumes.

We shopped at Don Quijote which is a huge department store.  This store has 7 floors and is open 24 hours a day.  It was jam-packed with so much stuff it was overwhelming.

Time for a break so we stopped at Krispy Kreme.  They torch some doughnuts to create a cream brulee doughnut.  The hot now sign remained illuminated the entire time we were there.  They sold them as fast as they could make them.

Mary got to experience the Bing Bong at dinner.  Whenever you are ready to order your food you press the bing bong and they come running to take your order.  They only return to your table if you press this button.  It makes sense to me.  :-)

On Our Way to Tokyo, Japan - Mary, Donna & Marlon

On our way to Orlando to catch our flight to Japan.  We picked up Mary Braunstein to enjoy the adventures with us.

Sky Tree Tokyo Japan

Talk about a thrill traveling up 350 meters at a rate of 600 meters per minute. Talk about your ears popping. I didn't have time to get scared from going up so high. Tokyo Skytree has two observation decks that offer spectacular views out over Tokyo. We did not see Mount Fuji is was not a clear day. I did enjoy some ice cream while visiting the Sky Tree....great way to calm the nerves. We did build up the nerve to stand on a glass floor at the top of the Sky Tower scariest thing I have done.......

Audy and Greg are watching the elevator climb to the top of Sky Tree at 350 meters at a rate of 600 meter per minute.
View from top of sky tree

Audy, Greg and I stood on top of a glass floor looking down from the top of Sky Tree.

Had a little dessert of icecream while in top of Sky Tree.

Tsukiji Fish Market~~Tokyo Japan

As we got close to the Tsukiji Market I smelled fish smell strong.  No wonder because this market is the largest fish distribution in Japan. Tsukiji Market is known to handle over 2,000 tons of marine products per day. While trying to get around the market we had to be very careful. So many tow motors, scooter, truck and buyers and sellers that were running around in the warehouse, just stay out of their way.
Lots of fish and fish parts everywhere.  The majority of things I could not tell u what they were.
Tools of the Trade

Now its time to try some food from the fish market.  Yummy

Akihabara, Japan~~Electric City

Akihabara is a district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many electronics shops. Things have changed a little with the addition of many shops are devoted to anime. We marveled at this place when it started to get dark and all the lights on the buildings lit up.  It's amazing how many lights can be added to one building.

Ate lunch here and Audy and Greg went to try out the sushi conveyor belt. Look at the smiles, yes they loved this place.

Check out that stack of plates.

Checking out the anime stores......and decided to look and see what I would look like dressed up.  It looks like I better stick to my own casual wear.
Found my favorite dessert......shared this treat with Audrey.  It's a cake fish shaped filled with custard......or chocolate.  I got custard and she got chocolate.  YUMMY

Great  Times with Audy and Greg in Electric City Japan.
