Day 5 Another Day in Japan

Well it's 2am and I can't sleep : -( Guess I'll get out of bed and play on Facebook : -) Always find someone to talk to on there:-) this morning I got to talk with Morgan which was sweet, she's one of my very special nieces. It was nice just touching base with her first time we've talked since I left over a week ago.

Talked with Sheryl this morning on Facebook also great!! Usually my daytime hours are so different than my families its hard to catch them on line.

Finally around 4am I got tired enough to lay back down and then at 5am it was time to get up with hubby. : -) He tried to be quiet and let me sleep but I really want to be up with him in the mornings to talk and have coffee with him. I can take a nap later !!I had bought a cinnamon roll at the French bakery in the mall which was covered with a light sweet glaze and nuts. I'm not kidding the taste was absolutely wonderful. I love the glaze and the sweetness of the roll wow great as Tony the Tiger would say LOL I did split it with hubby it was a big roll.

OK to counteract that sweet roll I just ate next is one of the apples that I bought yesterday at the Farmers Market. The first bite into this huge apple sent juice running down my arm, I jumped up and ran and got a hand towel to wipe myself off LOL.......... I'm not exaggerating the apple was that juicy. I can say they have the best fruit i have ever had the fruit looks like it has been pampered all the way to the shelf in the store and very reasonable priced. Before Marlon left for work we made another cup of coffee using the hotel coffee instead of Caribou. I love the way you make this coffee the filter hinges over the top of your coffee cup and the top is torn off and then you pour hot water down though the coffee which is in the filter. You'll have to check out the pictures to see what I'm talking about.

The rubbing my shoes done to my heels still look pretty bad, when our only form of transportation is our feet this is not a good thing. May decide to wear sandals today and freeze my feet off, we will see.

I take a glance over to the window and notice the bright pink cherry blossoms sitting on the table ohhhhhhh so pretty. ; -) Went to the window to see if Marlon and the crew have been picked up for work, no not yet I see a few of them standing outside smoking. Looks like its another cold day if their body actions have anything to do with the temp outside. They are standing but trying to stand close to the building to block the wind. Oh what you would do for a smoke, glad I quit that habit. : -)

Better get a few letters written to send out today: -) The letters are written but haven't mailed them yet.

Put on tennis shoes and no problem heel doesn't hurt. When the WARM SUN hit me in the face as i walked out of the hotel the biggest grin came upon my face. : - ) The weather has totally changed from freezing to 54 degrees today, loving every minute of this day.

Belinda and I took off this morning around 10am and went to Paero which is another mall. Since everything is so little around here it sure has cut down on my buying anything. I wanted to go to this mall because I'm looking for some stationary. : -) Finally found the stationary and now I can write and send some more letters out.

We did shop around a little bit in the train station. OK bathroom break which means we need to find a bathroom with a western bathroom and not Japanese. Japanese bathroom are squaters which I have included a picture : -)

Shopped around till around lunch and then decided to pick up lunch at McDonalds and eat outside and enjoy the sunshine. We found a couple of benches and sat down and enjoyed our lunch soaking up the sunshine. Oh did I mention I have no coat on and I'm still warm. Loving every minute of it. Those cherry blossoms should start blooming pretty fast now the weather is going to be perfect for them for the next week or so. Don't understand this weather and don't care at the moment since its so beautiful outside.

After we ate lunch neither one of us wanted to go back inside so we went walking up towards Ori and Dori Mall and the Fukudaya. Once we reached the temple we saw a flock of doves and in the midst of the doves as a little girl in a stroller with her Mommy. They were just there watching the birds. We did take their picture as they were so in tune to the moment just daughter and Mom: -)

We proceeded up to the stairs to climb to the top I really think there's at least a hundred steps to the top to see the temples. When I got about a 1/3 of the way up I heard those birds and they sounded like they were so close. I turned around and all I could see was birds coming right at me, I SCREAMED and ducked down covering my head. Now you can believe me when I say I drew the attention of everybody within a mile of me, because I SCREAMED LOUD. I never got hurt and never fell down those cement stairs but its a wonder I didn't.

We made our way to the top and took pictures that we did not take the other times we were up there. On our way home Belinda found a shop that sold pocketbooks and found a very nice one for $10.50.........great buy. The price was great because everything here in Japan is very expensive. Isn't it ironic that when things are sent to the USA from Japan its cheap but buying anything made in Japan in Japan cost a fortune. We arrived back at the hotel and Belinda went to do laundry and I went to my room.

Guys got home from work and Marlon told me that we were going to meet Utsugi our Japanese friend. Utsugi came to the hotel and we met him down in the lobby, the rest of the group decided where they were going to eat. Rick and Belinda, Jim, Marlon and myself went with Utsugi to go to a place to eat. Once we arrived at the location the place had shut down and no longer was there. After much discussion among us we decided to eat at a Gyzo restaurant. Went to one that was on the other side of the tracks not far from Sammy's. Food was good and we all got full, i gave Utsugi the handmade wooden basket that was shaped like the state of Ohio. I also added some buckeyes to the basket. Utsugi liked the gift and that made me feel so good. Had a wonderful time talking to everyone while we ate. Alot of talking going on at our table : -) Home now and time for bed. Good Night
