Fourth of July 2022

Lunch on the patio. Hubby did some grilling for all of us.  Nothing like some American July 4th food, burgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, ice tea, and blackberry crisp with ice cream.  In the cart and heading to Brownwood to see the festivities going on.
It looks like it could rain and has threatened to rain all day.  So far though no rain. :-)
Took Mary's picture with the American red white and blue stilt walkers.
Watched The Villages twillers perform their patriotic act.
Another picture of Mary with the stilt walkers.
Twillers
Marlon and I spotted the stilt walkers and got our picture with them. So patriotic.
Kyle and Mary
Time to take a look at the all-American Brews & Cruise activity.  Lots of excellent made-in-America cars that are classic.
Making our way around the square in Brownwood to see all these classic cars.

Check out the license plate on the 67 mustang fastback.
Nice time at Brownwood Brews & Cruise to check out more of the villages. Made a pit stop to show Kyle and Mary the place called Sunset Point.  What a beautiful view of Sumter Landing.
Now it's time to check out another part of The Villages.  Spanish Springs is the oldest part of the villages.  We are going to take Kyle and Mary to this most beautiful area.  Live music at the Spanish Springs Square tonight is Paisley Craze.
Danced to a slow song they played and left to tour the rest of Spanish Springs.
Stopped to admire this beautiful lit-up fountain where the oak trees are covered with moss hanging down from the trees.  Love how the wind makes the moss swaying in the breeze.
Great night with the family.

FIRST DAY WITH MY BOYS IN THE VILLAGES

Well, it's noon and the boys are getting out of bed. Getting home at 3:30am from the airport made us all sleep in. :-) Grandpa made them egg, cheese, and bacon sandwiches.  Yummy they ate it all!! Showered and ready for a golf cart ride to the grocery store, and to get guest passes for the pools and recreation centers.

Drove the golf carts to Brownwood Publix and shopped for some of the boys' favorite foods :-) .  Now for a surprise stop at Dunkin Doughnuts.  We parked and went in to check out the selection of delicious doughnuts.  The boys (Brody & Archer) picked out the doughnut with the chocolate frosting and sprinkles.  Marlon, Joshua, and I had a bagel and cream cheese.

The skies are getting dark and the wind has picked up.

Well, it's raining outside, and it's time for some indoor activities. The boys have to paint by numbers and are going to paint pictures to take home to their mother.

We are basically waiting on the paint to dry and Brody wants to take a nap.  Archer wants to take a golf cart ride.  I took him to see my friend Mickey first.  She thought he was a cutie pie.  Once back in the cart I let Archer sit on my lap and drive the golf cart.  He did very good at steering and the gas pedal.  On our way to another friend's house Mary.  We stopped and knocked on her door.  She invited us in and we chatted a little bit.  We are now back at the house and it's time to start thinking about what's for dinner.  Marlon is making burgers on the grill, corn on the cob, and french fries.  After dinner, we all got in the golf carts and took a ride to Brownwood and a dance band was playing.  We stopped and listened to some music and I learned how to do the salsa dance.

My Boys

Now we are back in the cart and hunting for some alligators. It is a long cart ride to the new area of The Villages called Fenny.  I am so enjoying this time with my boys.  We found not one gator tonight but we will look again tomorrow.
It is dark outside and we drove home from Fenny in the dark.  I'm exhausted from yesterday and today.  I have a book of short stories I'm going to read the boys for bedtime.  The boys had a small bowl of ice cream.  Guess Brody doesn't like icecream but Archer does:-)  I thought all kids liked cookies and cream ice cream!!
