Osanbashi Pier & Red Brick Shopping Plaza - Taka

Walking towards the Osanbashi Pier Taka pointed out the Yokohama Tower.  The tower is the highest observation deck in Yokohama.  The tower has the fastest elevator which whisks you up to the 69th floor in just under 40 seconds.  Once you arrive at the top you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view.
The Osanbashi Pier is getting close.
This design was on the arch of the bridge we walked under down by the pier.  Shows some history of the area's pier.
When we walked across the street a festival was going on.

There were lots of people there dressed in authentic India clothing. Diwali in Yokohama is a festival of light that marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. We enjoyed the Indian culture by watching live dances, and shopping.  This is one of the most famous festivals in Yokohama which attracted more than 200,000 participants in two days.

After the Indian Celebration Festival, we ventured on down toward the pier to go to the RED BRICK WAREHOUSE for some shopping.

The view from the pier of all the ships in the harbor was awesome to see.
The Osanbashi Pier is one of Yokohama's best spots for a walk, and for an unobstructed view of the Minato Mirai skyline.  Yamashita Park and the Red Brick Warehouses.
We walked through the Yamashita Park. All the roses were in bloom.  I enjoyed photographing them and of course, smelling the sweet aroma.
We are still down by the pier and there are several advertisements dealing with the rugby matches here in Japan for the Olympics.
Lots of entertainment down along the pier.  This entertainer was throwing up sticks on fire and catching them.
Finally, we have reached our destination of the RED BRICK shopping Plaza. We went inside and shopped around, stopped for some come zero (no coke, Pepsi) and then it was time to head to the train station.  Taka helped us get a green car tickets back to Tokyo (reserved seat first class comfort) on a limited express train.  Thanks to Taka for making this trip to Yokohama a success.

 BYE, BYE, TAKA
Mary's first trip in the green car.
We are back in Tokyo and going to eat at the Dubliner and watch the rugby Olympic tournaments.

Mmmmmmm pizza and beer!
