Woke up early because the thunder was so loud and strong it shook the apartment. Lightening was flashing through the windows and the rain was coming down hard. Welcome, El Nino to Santa Monica. When the sun came up we walked down to the beach to check out the storm damage. The wind is still very strong out. The sand was swirling up in the air and blowing around on the beach. This strong wind was making it almost impossible to be out by the ocean. The sand felt like pebbles hitting you in the face. I was afraid of getting it in my eyes.
Look at the ocean how the waves were up to 13 ft. tall and the palm trees are leaning.The sand has blown up against this wall and then it launches off the top of the wall time to get back to the apartment.
Marlon and I left the beach and he showed me the way to the top of our building. Once up there we could see the beach but it was still windy and the breeze was cold. I took a pic of this bird of paradise. I think they are such a beautiful flower. Time to go down to the apartment and eat lunch.
I am wanting to go downtown and look around. There is a Goodwill store that is huge and I want to check it out. Marlon and I got ready to go. As we walked towards the downtown we saw a limo golf cart that gives free rides. I ask him if he would take us downtown and he said hop in. :-)

Met a nice man who was sitting beside me. After some conversation, we find out he is a former actor. His name is Dan Fitzpatrick and he played in the TV Series Moonlighting in 1985-1989. Dan also was an actor in White Furry in 1990. After his movie days were done he moved to Detroit Michigan and became a Detroit policeman. He is going to be starring in another movie which will be called I'm headed South. He currently lives in Panama and his wife recently died. He is back in LA because he is working on the details of his next movie. Very interesting and nice gentleman. Glad to have met him, he did invite us to Panama where he owns his place plus a rental. Maybe someday we will meet again.
