Breakfast at the Waters Edge Inn before taking off to our next destination which is Lake Placid, NY. On the way, we stopped a few times so I could capture some of the views. Which by the way seems to be a long way between points A and B. Saw a group of wild turkeys. Marlon pulled over so we take their pictures.
Take a look at this roaring, rushing waterfall. The water is so muddy because we had hard rain last night.
Well, my breakfast has worn off and I'm glad we have come into the town of Lake Saranac, NY. The town was very charming and friendly. Lots of people sitting outside at the coffee shops, streets of places to shop and eat. We chose a place called Blue Moon Café and are so glad we did. Lots of locals enjoyed breakfast and some were eating lunch. The coffee is self-serve, which I like. I don't want to forget to mention all the food is homemade. We ordered a cheddar bacon jalapeño soup and got the last 2 bowls. Happy we ordered the soup as it was super delicious. Time for some shopping and an iced coffee for the road.
During our exploration of downtown Lake Saranac, we walked into a place that talked about the loons which are ducks. We have been trying to spot them since we arrived in NY. We were told to check out at Lake Clear where they have often been spotted. We drove out there and walked down a beautiful path to the lake but no loons were in sight.
Lake Saranac also houses The Union Station. It was closed when we arrived and I'm pretty sure it is closed for good. Saranac Lake Union Depot is a former NY Central Railroad station. It was built in 1904 by the Delaware and Hudson Railway.
