Lady And The Tramp Filming in Savannah GA

Walking towards the area that is filming "Lady and The Tramp".  The streets are covered with dirt and sand.  Old antique cars and trucks are covered up sitting along the streets.  The crew is busy setting up props and lighting, this street is hustling with lots of activity.
Mrs. Wilkes famous restaurant is located on Jones St. but this has not stopped the tourist from standing in line to eat lunch here.

The crew is filming a remake of Lady And The Tramp.
Dog Pound truck is covered for now but will be in action soon as they start the filming in this area.

Fort Pulaski

Fort Pulaski is located on Cockspur Island between Savannah and Tybee Island.

Fort Pulaski: Was named after Casimir Pulaski, a Revolutionary War soldier under George Washington’s command.

Upon graduation from West Point, Lt. Robert E. Lee, the future Confederate general, was in charge of designing the series of canals and earthworks that drained excess water from Cockspur Island, site of construction located slightly east of Savannah, Georgia. This step was necessary to provide an adequate foundation for fort construction. During the American Civil War, Lee inspected the site and noticed the dike system had worked as planned.
A moat surrounds Fort Pulaski and a draw bridge is lowered to gain entry.
Erected in 1893 to protect an underground chamber. Controls for electric mines were placed in the main channel of the Savannah River.
This room is kept locked as it contains a large and dangerous electric transformer.
Tunnels underground the hexagon that faces east included a demilune, moat, two powder magazines.  The area was about the size of a football field.

Inside the underground demilune, we toured through the tunnels.  Can't be claustrophobic or this would not be a good place to tour.

Tybee Island

Since Tybee Island was only 45 min from Savannah GA we decided we would go there before going back to The Villages Florida.  Stopped and got our picture taken with the DAily Sun from The Villages.
Found a place to park and did some shopping along the main street. Laughed when I read this sign guess my mind went to the gutter for a minute. LOL

We also started looking for a place to have some lunch.  Ended up at Fannie's on The Beach. Great place for drinks, view, and food.
The weather today was so nice but very windy.  As we were headed to the beach a guy on a skateboard opened an umbrella and used it to propel him down the parking lot.  I stood and was amazed at how good it actually worked.

Over the boardwalk and down to the sandy beach .  The sea is rough but the view is awesome.

The wind made art in the sand.  Pretty cool

Check out the waves coming into shore.  Not a good day to get in the ocean.
