Stroke & the Aftermath - Marilyn

My baby sister Jennifer came to Florida to take her Mother In Law & Father In Law back to Ohio.  Marilyn the mother in law had a stroke and her entire right side is not functioning.  Marilyn is also a long time friend we went to church together when I was growing up.  Its sad what a stroke can do to your body.  It even effected her speech and thought process.  She is in bad shape and needed to be back in Ohio.  Her husband and her come to Florinda every winter and stay in Ocala in a camper.  We picked up my sister Jennifer and her daughter Morgan at Sanford airport at 11:30 pm last night and didn't get home till 1:30am.  We are all so tired and went straight to bed.  The next morning we took  them to the nursing home in Ocala where Jennifer and Morgan had to be trained on how to transport Marilyn from the wheel chair to the car.  It was a challenge for them to move her but with a couple tries they succeeded.

Morgan is giving her Grandpa Barney some comfort as he watches what this stroke has done to his wife.

After the training class we left and went for a ride to get some fresh veggies and Plant City strawberries which are in season right now.  The drive down the country roads was relaxing and beautiful scenery with tree lined roads and fields of cows.

Time to relax a few from all the morning activities.  Sat out on the patio and chatted and soaked up some sun. We are all starting to get hungry.  Our friend Karen let us borrow her golf cart so Jennifer and Morgan could travel around in a golf cart with us.  On our way to Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages.  Walked around the Lake Sumter and now on our way to Piesano's Pizza.

Cart ride to Piesano's was approx. 30 minutes but very enjoyable and an easy way to see a little bit of The Villages.  Piesano's was busy but we did get a table outside.  The pizza was delicious as usual and the free rolls with Italian dressing on them was so good.  The way sister is looking at our waitress serving the pizza says she is hungry and it looks good.

Great meal and time to head home.  As we got into our golf carts and we took off and Morgan was to follow.  Um where are they?  Marlon and i went to end of parking lot and back to them.  The golf cart back fired LOUD and would not move.
We tried several times to get it started but not luck.  Its dark out now and we need to get home.  Marlon ended up calling Walt and Mickey our neighbors and good friends to help us out.  Walt and Mickey brought a tow strap so we could tow the broken down cart home.  What an exhausting day.

Waiting for a tow

A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO OUR NEIGHBORS WALT AND MICKEY FOR COMING TO THE RESCUE.  THEY BROUGHT A TOW STRAP AND ATTACHED OUR GOLF CARTS TOGETHER SO WE COULD TOW THE BROKEN DOWN CART HOME.  MORGAN DID A GREAT JOB IN THE BROKEN CART.  MICKEY AND WALT DROVE AHEAD AND WOULD WAIT ON US TO ARRIVE TO MAKE SURE WE MADE IT HOME SAFELY. WHAT A NIGHT.

Up early to pick up Barney then on to the nursing home to get Marilyn.  Dropped all of them off at the Orlando airport.  Safe travels
