St. Johns Ferry Boat Ride

The Saint Johns River Ferry, also known as the Mayport Ferry, is an automobile ferry between Mayport and Fort George Island, two areas within Jacksonville, Florida. The 0.9 miles (1.4 km) voyage crosses the Saint Johns River about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) inland of the river's mouth and travels in an east-west direction for approximately 2,000 feet (610 m) on State Road A1A. It departs every half-hour.
Picked up Emma, Landen was at work.  Decided to take a tour around Jacksonville, Florida.  During our ride around Jacksonville Florida, we spotted A FERRY BOAT.  Marlon stopped and got in line with the rest of the cars to ride on the St. John's Ferry over to Fort George Island.
Time to drive the van onto the ferry boat.

This is so cool. We are parked on the ferry and at first, we didn't get out of the van.  I said there are others getting out of there cars so let's go.

First thing I spot is a brown pelican sitting atop a wall and several boats tied up at the docks.

This has been a wonderful Easter spending it not in the traditional way of sitting down for dinner at home.  I am very happy to be spending it with Marlon and Emma exploring the area around Jacksonville, Florida.
Its a short ride to the other side for about 8 minutes.
The ferry ride has ended and we are back in the van and waiting our turn to drive off the ferry and head out to Kingsley Estate.
