Day 10 Stonehenge England Summer Solstice

☀️ As the sun rises on the longest day of the year, it aligns with the Heel Stone and the heart of the ancient monument.

Stonehenge, the world, famous prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire England.  Built over 4,500 years ago during the Neolithic period, it remains one of the most architecturally sophisticated a mysterious stone circles in the world. We actually got to witness a specialized Stonehenge Ceremony for the  Summer Solstice. Druids and Pagans religious groups were performing  ceremonies.   Stonehenge was blocked off for the ceremonies being performed.  We watched them from afar.

Dinner tonight at Flat Iron.  We truly have been blessed to spend this time with Mason.

Day 9 Ludlow & Bristol England

On the bus and headed to Ludlow.  As we drove down the streets in the big bus the streets were so small I can’t believe the town lets buses come into town!  Barely enough room between the sidewalk full of people and the bus!🚌
Farmers Market was great!  Lots of sight seeing, restaurants and shopping.  We ate lunch at a pub which was ok. Nice atmosphere

Long ride today but it was broken up with several stops!
We have arrived at our hotel and are heading out for dinner at Cosy Club. The place along time ago was a bank for the rich. It has marble Floors and beautiful interior.

The bull with the top hat at the Cosy Club Bristol is a decorative feature honoring the building's original purpose. Before becoming a restaurant, the Grade II listed building on 31 Corn Street was a majestic banking hall, specifically the former headquarters of the Metropolitan Bank.
The top hat pays homage to the 19th-century Victorian and Edwardian bankers, merchants, and gentlemen who would have conducted business on Corn Street. It is a quintessential example of the playful, quirky interior design—mixing traditional British gentleman’s club themes with vintage glamour—that defines the Cosy Club brand.
Beautiful walk back to the hotel!

Day 8 Liverpool England-Beatles

Our luggage was removed from the bus and we left immediately for our Beatles tour.  When we return our luggage will be in our room😀  we saw the barber shop where they got they’re  hair cut,  the college of music they attended, childhood residences, schools, and colleges of these iconic band members, including the famous Penny Lane.

The Beatles played on this very stage.  The Cavern Club was an amazing place to be with live music.🎵 Did you know the Beatles used to be called The Quarry Men.

The river in front of the famous Beatles statue in Liverpool is the River Mersey
The larger-than-life bronze statues of John, Paul, George, and Ringo were located at the Pier Head along the city's waterfront.

Goodbye Liverpool

Day 7 Ghillie Dhu -Dancing

Ghillie Dhu was originally St. Thomas Episcopal church and has been totally restored. It is now a beautiful Scottish restaurant and bar.
There was a bag piper playing music for people to enjoy as they entered the building .  There were two girls that were Scottish dancers standing at the entrance of the door to show us which way to go when we got in there.  The establishment is absolutely beautiful!

We have pre-ordered our dinner and it was as good as  what I thought it would be.   The steak was so tender You could cut it with a fork.

Mason tried the haggis and liked it. So proud of him he ate it and liked it. The bag pipe told the story about how haggis was created and why.  I do like haggis but it’s very rich so I can’t eat very much of it.  is a savory pudding containing sheep's  (heart, liver, and lungs), minced with chopped onion, oatmealsuet, seasonings, and salt, mixed with stock, and cooked while traditionally encased in the animal's stomach though now an artificial casing is used.
The bar was fully stocked and the bottles were rocking each other leaving no gaps between the bottles.
