Flint Ridge Nature Preserve in Licking County Ohio

Flint Ridge State Memorial is a Native American flint quarry located in Hopewell Township, Licking County, Ohio, about three miles north of Brownsville at the intersection of Brownsville Road and Flint Ridge Road.

Flint Ridge contains quarry pits where all of the ancient people of Ohio came to get flint for both tools and weapons.^[4]Some archaeologists believe that the Hopewell culture traded the brightly colored flint from this area for materials from other areas of North America

Blue Rock State Forest

Blue Rock State Forest is located in Muskingum County, Ohio.  types now found in Ohio namely limestone, shale, and sandstone.  The silt from these waters formed in the sedimentary shale found within the Blue Rock State Region.  This blue colored shale gave the park its name. 

The area has some rich green forest. I loved the ride through this beautiful area.

The area is just so beautiful lots of green lush trees.  The area we stopped at had a nice picnic shelter and a little covered bridge for access to use this area.

This bird startled me as I was admiring all the water lilies on the pond.  Can't tell you what kind of bird it is but he is very fast getting from place to place.

The pond located by the shelter house was completely cover with water lilies.  So beautiful to stand and look at.

Found some yellow lilies amongst the water lilies that have not bloomed.  This place has so much to enjoy.

Sunday cruise in the S2000 has been such an adventure today.

Stockport Mill in Stockport, Ohio

Cruising around in our Honda S2000 July 4th weekend and on our way to Athens, Ohio.  Stockport was a stop on our way.  If anyone gets a chance to visit Stockport which is a very small town.  You need to stop at the Stockport Inn and restaurant.  Lots of history about this famous place.  We met some motorcycle people as we were standing and reading the signs about the Stockport Mill. They told us about a famous route that bikers enjoy riding down called Rt. 555.   Highway 555, the Triple Nickel. The bikers continued talking tell us that this route is Ohio's Tail of the Dragon.    State route 555 is a 62.36-mile-long country road that goes through 4 counties.

14 guest rooms are distinctive, and all offer private balconies overlooking the beautiful Muskingum River. A dining terrace wraps around the Mill's first floor restaurant.

The historic Stockport Mill is the last remaining mill on the Muskingum River. And now it's a one-of-a-kind inn and restaurant.

A mill has operated on this site since 1842. Construction began on the current structure in 1906. Its milling equipment was operated by electricity generated by turbines harnessing the power of the Muskingum River.

Located across from the Stockport Mill there is a lock that channels boats, as boats cannot go over the dam.
