Indian Run Water Falls

Picked up my friend Laura and away we went to another adventure.  I have found another water fall within Dublin, Ohio.  The name of the falls is Indian Run.  There was a trail leading to the falls with a couple places that had great look out towers.  Today the water is really running fast and hard.  We have had lots of rain and boy do the rivers show it.
As we walked down the trail it was beautiful with the sun peeking through the top of the trees.  Loved all the bright red berries on the bushes.  I can hear the water but cannot see the falls yet.
We noticed a set of stairs that led down to the river.  Laura and I went down by the water being very careful.  The water is really rushing very hard today.
This is what we could see after we got to the bottom of the steps.
As we ventured back up the stairs and down the trail we heard some people talking and what we saw amazed us.  Two girls had strung there hammocks  from one side of the river to the other and were just hanging out.  Looked so neat, what a great way to enjoy the day with a friend.
We knew we were getting closer to the big water falls as the sound was much louder.  As we walked through the woods on the path there was another small waterfall.  The water was really rushing down the rocks to a pond below.  The view is just amazing.
Look how fast and hard this water is moving.  Looks dangerous.
We did go out on each of the towers A & B for a great view.  Wonder if this girl is going to jump?
As we were watching the river lead to these water falls we noticed a girl was standing at the top of the falls.  There have been several people jump from this falls today but we just got here and had not seen anyone jump.  As I was taking snapshots the girl decided to jump and I got some pretty good shots of her.

After this thrill of the day we left and went to sit by the Scioto River at Leatherlips Yacht Club.  Boy if you needed a place to get away and think this is a beautiful place.  Walked down the pier and looked out at the river.  With all the rain we have had the water is so brown.

Took another ride in Shawnee Hills to look at some houses.  Some houses along the river were million dollar homes and others right beside the million dollar homes looked like they needed to be torn down and rebuilt.  Ok we are done and have decided we were going to drive to Powell and go to Ritas Ice.  I have never had this before so I was good with Laura's idea.  I drove us to Powell and she bought us an ICE.  I had lemon with custard and she had blueberry raspberry.  Together we sat and chatted and enjoyed the ice.  We were so hot and this ice was just what we needed to bring our body temperatures down.    Time to head home.......I so enjoyed my day with my daughter and Laura.

Summer Country Cruise......

Its a bright sun shinny day today and Marlon and I have decided to take a cruise in the country.  We jumped into our yellow Honda S 2000 and away we went with no place particular in mind.  Boy is it nice to see all the bright green leaves on the trees.   I can remember when there were no leaves on the trees, boy do  I LOVE SUMMER.........
Before you know it we are in Mechanicsburg Ohio and have stopped at their park. My husband's Mom has a tree that was dedicated to her.  I went to find the tree and get a picture of it.  The tree had a plaque directly in front it On the plaque was Marlon's Mom's name Vonna Charles.  What a great place to put the tree, directly in front of the shelter.  The park where the tree is has some real nice playground equipment, Vonna's tree is already producing shade on those hot summer days.

I Love barns and this one has some nice detail on it.  Check out the cupola's on top of the barn.
I really love to take pictures of old barns and bridges.  So far on the cruise we have seen a field of round hay bales, a beautiful bridge, an old barn that is about ready to fall down, and some neat cupola's of top of the barns.
We have come across this bridge that has some neat architecture on it. Looks like it was built in 1914 by Central Concrete company from Canton Ohio.  The bridge was located over the Big Darby River.
This farm was pretty neat.  It had a cow painted on one barn, a big concrete chicken out front of one of the barns.  I saw no house on the property but the barns are being well taken care of.
Another barn I came across looked like it was going to fall down at any moment.  If you look through the barn door opening you will see another big barn that also is about ready to fall down.

Who doesn't like cupola's?  This barn had a cupola with a weather vane on the top, with a horse.  Wow this farm is  just amazing and is in great condition. :-)
See the hay wagon?  It brings back so many memories for me.  My Grandpa Grooms would put us kids on the wagon and hook the tractor up to it.  He would then pull us over to the woods and let us play.  Boy how I miss those days on the tobacco farm of my Grandpa Grooms.  In those days the pop was in bottles and after the men would get done in the fields a cold pop would be brought to them.  Grandpa Grooms would let us pick up the bottles and let us turn them in for money.  Boy I used to think I was rich with all that money.  I could buy a cold pop for me and lots of candy at the corner store in West Union, Ohio.  Those were the days.
This barn caught my attention because it still has some hay in it. Have I mentioned that I'm taking these pictures from the car as we are driving along.  Yikes......they really are not bad for a car going at least 55mph.
Like the roof line on this barn and really like the big silo's that are behind it.

NICE BIG RED BARN AND SILO.......its the end of our journey today and its time to go home and have lunch.  Thanks for enjoying our country cruise with us.

My Grandson's Baptism :-)

Nothing makes a Mimi more proud than her grandson getting baptised. I'm crying as I look at these pictures. I am so blessed to know JL is keeping his faith strong with God. I know the challenges he faces everyday in high school and the many temptations that are in this world today. Hayden Falls in Columbus Ohio

Had a great day with my friend Laura, ate lunch at Tartan Fields, took an adventure to Hayden Falls, and some shopping. Laura's new jacket from Japan looks great on her. What a beautiful day to spend with a friend.
