2016 Christmas Speech

This year has been a difficult year since we have lost a precious loved one, my daughter Jammie. It's nice to know that no matter what happens, I have a wonderful family to lean on to help us get through the holidays.  This year will be lots of first to get through.  We have lost a daughter and you have lost a niece and granddaughter.  As a family, we are lucky to have each other to help us deal with the loss of another family member.  I asked my sister Debbie to give this year's speech but she said she could not do it.  So I’m going to use the words she told me while traveling to Ohio, to comfort me. My sister, Debbie told me You have Dad, Grandma, Papaw & everyone is taking care of Jammie in heaven, she is at rest and she is keeping her eyes on you.
You pulled through with dad and you will do the same with Jammie, you never missed a speech while she was here, now she is in our heart and wants you to continue. As I’m sitting in the van another message comes through from Debbie.  I love you, just think, Jammie is everywhere you are and enjoying her trip back from a nice warm place, which Jammie loved. You are surrounded with love, I feel a pain for you Sister, I know it's more than anyone person can bare.  This last statement she wrote to me meant so much.  We all got you sister and just know we are there for you. I want you to be comforted, I wish that everything was different, but God had bigger and more plans for Jammie, she may be on earth as an angel helping someone else who needs help and. She is here with us, keep that in your mind, only happy thoughts.  My words to all of you is

Perhaps in the quiet hours, and in a quiet place on your knees alone or with a loved one give thanks for the good things that have come to you, and ask his spirit to dwell in you as you strive to keep his commandments.

Christmas @ My Son Christopher's House

Decorating Christmas cookies to send to school teachers.  Kids got tired so Marlon and Courtney finished them.
Presents are wrapped and placed under the tree for a wonderful holiday Surprise.  I handed the boys their gifts and they each proceeded to pull something from the bag.  The first thing was their Christmas ornament for Mimi and Grandpa Marlon.   I painted the boys christmas ornament like I do every year :-) Family Tradition.

 Levi's Christmas Ornament :-)
In the bottom of the bag was a small envelope with a letter inside to each of the boys.  I so enjoyed watching there facial expressions as they read what there Christmas gift was.

Levi opening his special letter from Mimi and Grandpa Marlon.
As Levi was reading his letter I saw him start to choke up and then he ran over to me and gave me the biggest hug ever.  Will never forget this moment and I mean NEVER......  It pleases me to make them so happy.
Here comes Eli wanting to thank us for his gift.
I had put in their Christmas bags a chocolate orange that you smack and it divides into slices. This is a Christmas treat my Momma always got me for Christmas, its a special treat and has a special meaning to me.  So the boys went to the table with their chocolate oranges and smacked them lightly on the table and wa la.....the orange split into pieces.  Such a special thing to share with them.
I got a beautiful 2016 Christmas ornament from the Columbus Zoo so very special to me.
Chris is loving his gift..such a unique gift.  He is excited to try it out and soon :-)

Levi Shafer Band Concert

Watching the sun go down in West Liberty Ohio as we drive to The Red Barn for dinner.  My son Christopher and his family are taking us to eat before we go to Levi's 7th grade band concert.
 The Barn pub and grill

I can't believe we ate 2 15 inch pizzas and a small cheese pizza between us.  Wow they have GREAT PIZZA.
Time to head out now and get to the West Liberty School before 7pm for band concerts.  As we went in and got the flyer with information of tonight's activities.   I saw Levi Shafer's name listed under the Alto Sax instrument.   He does very well at playing this instrument he is 2nd chair in the lineup. :=)
This is the West Liberty Salems gym where the concert is going to be held.  All my children graduated from this school and I love how the school mascot is written on the bleacher seats. TIGERS
We are patiently waiting for Levi's 7th grand band to take the floor for the concert.

All students were suppose to wear a Christmas hat.  I just love Levi's hat.
Levi's brother name is Eli.  He is such an handsome young man.
 AND........the concert begins........
