Teresa my friend that lives here emailed me to tell me that today is the coolest day that they have had in months, then proceeds to tell me.....Cool weather is because the tsunami came through so enjoy it now it will be hot by the weekend. Utsunomiyia has been around 84 F for a long time in the mornings but this morning it was only 74F. WOW
Love the packets at the hotel they give us to make a fresh cup of coffee....all you do is tear off the top of the filter and sit the packet on top of the cup. Pour hot water through the coffee filter and wah lah.......
I am going to have lunch today with Teresa, Deb and Sue, don't know where we are going but don't care I'm just excited to see them!!! :-)
Marlon and I did manage to get some grocery shopping done last night. Got a few basics fruit, cereal, bread, milk and peanut butter......of course some wine for the evenings to relax. Thought I would share a few pictures I took at the store.
Getting my laundry done this morning since we woke up again at 3:30am.......hope I get adjusted soon to this time change which is 13 hours different. YIKES>.....
I walked over to the train station to meet my friends who were picking me up down where people are getting picked up and dropped off to catch a train. Teresa and Deb are standing outside the car.....give big hugs for all........I'm so happy to see them :-) Teresa had got Marlon and I a gift which consisted of 2 big pears and a S-2000 scaled to 1/57 and oh my GOD its yellow just like our real one. I LOVE IT and I know as soon as Marlon sees it he will love it too. Rick and Teresa found it when they visited the main HONDA office here in Japan. AGAIN LOVE IT..........
We went and shopped at 100 zen plaza while we waited on Sue to get home from the doctor. Bought a knife so we can cut the skin off our pears and eat them later. :-) Bet they are going to be so good and juicy. yum yum.........
We are done shopping and on our way to go get Sue at her house. Miko won't be going to lunch with us but later on she will. Teresa drove us all to a place to eat that none of them had been to. No one knew what to expect when we arrived. The name of the place was Vanilla Vacation hummmmm what an odd name to name a place to eat. But then again the menu I looked at while in Kyoto said " FLIED CHICKEN"........LOL I think its funny when some words are translated for them. Its hard telling what the restaurants name would have been if it had been translated correctly.
The restaurant turned out to be buffet style, hard to pick what to try especially if its got some breading on it...you just never know what could be hiding under the breading. You can always count on the dessert being great. :-) I had taken my camera out and taken a picture of this dessert dish they gave me for icecream. I just thought it was funny how small the dish was. We left there to go shopping at a store called Humpty Dumpty funny name for a store. I had laid my camera down on the seat in the restaurant, well when we left I also left the camera......Didn't even notice it gone till we were in a store and they had sake barrels all lined up with taps on them so you could get your own sake. Reached in my purse to get my camera needed a picture of this and oh no it wasn't there: panic. I had left my camera in at Vanilla Vacation. All I can say is I LOVE JAPAN, my friends all told me not to worry that it would be there. Teresa took me back to Vanilla Vacation and we went in to look for the camera. As soon as we walked in a waitress came running over to get the camera to give back to us. Wow was I worried, my camera is not a real cheap one and I surely didn't want to go back to hotel and tell Marlon when he gets there. What a relief, life is good. I am back to the hotel and waiting on hubby to get home, its 7pm hopefully he comes home soon starting to get hungry......
Hubby's finally home and we went and ate at an Italian place. Takashi Marlon's Japanese partner ate with us....... GREAT DAY AND NIGHT ................. look forward to tomorrow's adventures.
sounds like a great girls day out in Japan
