Kite Festival in Redondo Beach

Yummy, ham from the grill.  Great way to start the day.  As we watched the news this morning they talked about a Kite Festival in Redondo Beach.  After breakfast, we got ready and headed out towards Redondo beach to attend the Kite Festival.  I'm excited to get to see this activity.  Camera packed and we are ready to go.

 We have arrived and are here early to get a good parking spot.  The parking meter will even send you a text message when you are running out of time.  How awesome is that?

 I don't know what kind of flowering tree this is but it sure produces some unique flowers on the tree.

 No kites in sight yet, so we are walking towards the pier where the kite flying will take place.  The ocean is really roaring today.  The waves are crashing on the rocks and sometimes even on the boardwalk.

We are walking along the boardwalk, there are plenty of places to eat some fresh seafood. Maybe later we will check these places out.

Marlon is checking out this huge board with wheels.  Do they really skateboard on this?

It was nice looking at all the boats here.  We thought this lady was really hanging from the ropes on the boat till we got closer.

We can finally see the kites in the air above all the shops.  

The beach is filling up with families and people wanting to participate in the kite flying going on today.  Today is so perfect  for flying a kite.  

Audy and Nichole are here and we are meeting them in the parking lot.  So nice they could come see this spectacular sight.  Audy had her new lens on her camera ready to take some shots.  The beach is full now of people flying kites.

 Perfect day for sailing, many, many boats out on the water today.

 
 More and more people out on the beach flying kites.
