Descanso Gardens Flintridge CA/Solstice Canyon

Today we are up early and going to UPS store to get my meds picked up.  Get them early just to find out that the person responsible to open the store is late for work.  Finally, she arrived and we got the meds and went to Audy's house.  We had stopped at  a bagel shop and picked up bagels and cream cheese for breakfast.  Upon our arrival at Andy's, house they helped us get a parking spot in the garage since we didn't have a card to open the gate.  We have eaten and are on our way to drop Seamus off at daycare. Greg drove today and  it took about an hour to reach Descanso Gardens where the Cherry blossom Festival is. The gardens are located at   1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge, CA
The place was packed and parking was terribly hard to find. When we reached the gardens this is what we saw.  The line was a mile long, so we decided to not wait in this line and find something else to do.  We walked around and took a few pictures of some flowering trees.

On the way back to the car Audy showed me a California acorn.  Wow, they are so neat.

We have decided to go hiking at Santa Monica Mountains National Park.  Need to go back and pick up Seamus at daycare. It's almost noon so we are going to eat lunch at a new place called Eatsa.

What a state of the art place.  You order on an ipad, your name shows up in the order you are in line.  You walk over to these glass doors and messages start appearing.  Your name is on the glass door and a message appears telling you your food is coming soon.  Love to see new technology.

Found our way to Malibu to visit the Solstice Canyon.  Address is 3455 Solstice Canyon Road, Malibu, CA 90265   This is the view from the parking lot.  Love all the houses located on the side of the Santa Monica Mountains.
I think this house looks like a spaceship, the only thing missing is aliens.
Starting our walk into the canyon.
You can see where the sides of trees are blackened from the last forest fire.

Seamus is enjoying his walk.
More burned trees

I can't believe people would vandalize and mark up this landmark.
Beautiful views everywhere you look.

I did spot a Black Hooded Parakette in Solicstic Park
