Day 4 Ghillie Dhu -Dancing

Timings for Monday 15 June:
6.15 pm Depart for the optional excursion " Ceilidh and dinner at the Ghillie Dhu" or evening at leisure
Ghillie Dhu was once St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and it has been completely restored into a breathtaking Scottish restaurant and bar. A bagpiper greeted guests with music as they entered, and two Scottish dancers stood at the doorway to guide us inside. The interior is absolutely stunning — such a beautiful place.

All Trafalgar guests are seated together as we had reservations.
We have pre-ordered our dinner, and it was as good as I thought it would be.   The steak was so tender, you could cut it with a fork.
Mason tried the haggis and he actually liked it! I was so proud of him for giving it a chance and enjoying it. The bagpiper even told the story of how haggis was created and why it became such a traditional Scottish dish. I like haggis too, but it’s very rich, so I can only eat a little. Haggis is a savory pudding made from sheep’s heart, liver, and lungs, minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, seasonings, and salt, all mixed with stock. It was traditionally cooked inside the sheep’s stomach, though today it’s usually made with an artificial casing.
The bar was fully stocked, and all the bottles were touching each other, leaving no gaps between the bottles. Now thats a well stocked bar.
The Scottish band tonight was fantastic, and they added a fun surprise — every table had to send a couple to the dance floor. Naturally, we got picked. The band started giving instructions, and we were both nervous because we had no idea how to do Scottish dances.
What an amazing place, the food was great, the drinks were flowing, and the lively music of the bagpipes and band made for a wonderful evening.  Aw, yes, of course, the folks we sat with are all so nice.
