On our way to Pitlochry, we saw lots of beautiful scenery. The bridges we passed were very massive and beautiful.
Once we left St. Andrews, we headed toward Pitlochry for lunch before our tour at Blair Atholl Distillery.
They split us into two groups and checked everyone’s IDs. In Scotland, you can drink at 18, so Mason got a bracelet too — he’s joining the whisky tasting! 😊The table was set with glasses of water and an eyedropper, and Matt, our guide, handed out small tasting glasses etched with the distillery’s name. Each of us received a wee dram of Blair Atholl whisky 🥃.
We made a toast and took a sip. Mason, however, downed his in one go — and for a second I thought he was going to throw up 🤮.
The guide laughed and said, “I remember my first sip of whisky.” Then he told Mason, “This isn’t tequila — you don’t shoot it!”
Poor Mason absolutely hated it!
Our next stop was Blair Castle. Mason was excited to go, but we chose not to, and some of our bus friends kindly offered to keep an eye on him 😀.
We were dropped off in Pitlochry for an hour while the others toured the castle, along with another couple, PD & Mel, who also opted out. I had my heart set on tea and a scone ☕️.
We discovered a charming little place called Hettie's Tea House— a truly lovely tea shop with such a welcoming feel.
What a lovely visit to Hettie's Tea House.
We returned to the spot where we’d been dropped off, and before long, the bus came back for us.
Mason said Blair Castle was one of his favorites because it felt so different from the others. When we arrived, Marlon stepped out to take a few photos of the beautiful castle grounds.
Mason toured the castle with Katherine and Lilly — and honestly, the three of them together were just too cute 🥰.
Blair Castle is very pretty. It's different as not many castles are painted white.Time for dinner at The Ghili Dul
