Welcome to Golden Colorado

Today's adventures with Ken and Candy took us to a beautiful city called Golden.  The streets were busy with people shopping, eating and people enjoying the many breweries down the streets.
Golden was named after Thomas L. Golden, a gold prospector who arrived in Jefferson Couty in 1858.
The city best resource was gold in the mid 19th century.     A small amount was discovered in Clear Creek which attracted settlers. Golden city became an important supply stop for gold miners seeking their fortunes.  Farmers soon discovered the rich soil in the valley that is now home to the Coors Complex.
As we parked the van the first thing I saw was this awesome painting of golden aspen trees on the side of this building.
Gold miners riding to Golden to get rich were painted on another building. While strolling the streets of Golden us ladies got our picture taken with this huge statue of a buffalo.
Here's Mark hiding behind a statue, gotcha Mark.
Statue of a gold miner.
Stopped at Starbucks for beverage, Sherry got the newest flavor Maple Pecan.  She thought it was very good, but I don't know if she thought it was better than pumpkin.
Stood around outside and drank our beverages chatting about the days' events and travels.
Marlon, Sherry and Candy ; brother and sisters.
Mark is always a happy kind of guy whom we all just love.
Lots of flowers on both sides of the street, the awe factor was high in this quaint little town.
