Hating to leave Ken and Candy's wonderful location in Denver Colorado but our time there is over. We had the best host and hostess anybody could ask for. So we are all sending them special thanks for such a welcoming. I love my family, I can't say enough what a great time we have all had. Goodbye, till next time.
Candy helped me make my first sewing project; mug rug. I learned how to do binding, using backing and quilting the fabric together, using fusible interfacing to applique. This list could go on but no need you get the just, I had a lot to learn but I also had the best teacher ever, Candy !!!
We are now in Utah. The speed limit is 80mph.
Scenery changes so fast in the mountains. Nice beautiful mountains filled with Golden Aspen trees to Snow on the mountains.
Once we went through this tunnel the weather started to get colder. We then had to drive through rain, sleet and yes Snow.
Sleet hitting the windshield. Bad driving conditions on these highways to Mesa Colorado.
Here comes the snow.....wow what a drive to find this location up in the mountains.
Wow, we have finally reached the check-in cabin. So tired and ready to relax and enjoy the magnificent views.
Oh my, we get ready to park and a rainbow appears. I am amazed at how close the rainbow is. I feel like if I walked a few feet more I would be finding me a pot of gold. Rainbows happen fast and go away fast too. Maybe next time I will be quicker.
Powderhorn sits on the edge of Grand Mesa, one of the largest flat-top mountains. Due to its location where the desert meets the mountain, the ski resort affords really unique vistas that extend for miles across the desert floor. Our 3 bedroom condo is big and beautiful. It's a long journey getting here but well worth it.
Forgot to mention on our travels to the condo on the mountain we heard a loud pop, I thought we got a flat tire. No flat tire; so we kept driving. About 20 minutes later, another loud pop. We decided whatever the noises were we would find out when we unpacked. LOL 2 bag of pretzels were the culprits.
It did get cold at night, when we got up there was frost on the ground and on the windshields of the cars. Brrrrrr.
