Buffalo Round Up in WY

We are up at 4am and have to drive 30 minutes to reach Custer National Park for the Buffalo Round-Up.  We don't know which lot to go to view the buffalo coming the North or South Lot.  We finally chose the North Lot.  We arrived and all we could see was a line of cars at 5am waiting to get into the park.  As we all came to a standstill and waited for the gates to open at 6am.  They decided to let the traffic start getting parked.  We brought chairs and a blanket because it is cold at 6am.   

Lots are filling up quick, I watch up on the hill where we are in the North lot and watch big busses of people start to fill the South Lot.  North lot was filled up fast. The park had pancakes and sausage for sale along with coffee. 

We see the TV stations and Newspaper Reporters up on the hill getting ready for the big round-up.

It's a long morning the buffalo did not come over the hill with the cowboys pushing them to the corral to be branded.  

Lots of cowboys and camera crews in trucks documenting this huge event here in SD.

Met these nice people that live here in SD.  The one guy kept saying how much he loved Marlon's hat which was an Arnold Palmer hat.  He finally asks Marlon if he would trade hats with him.  He had met Arnold and really wanted the hat.  His wife had shaken Arnold's hand. The people had told us about an international bull riding event that is held here. PBR will be here in SD and they love the events.  He gave Marlon his PBR hat in trade for Marlon's Arnold hat.  The lady told me I needed one to wear when we go  to see the Unleash the Beast PBR.  She gave me her hat. WOW After some research this event is the first time in league history will be in Deadwood, South Dakota.  Bull riding fans will get to see the ultimate level of competition between 35 o the world's top bull riding athletes and the rankest bucking bulls in the business.   PBR Monster Energy Invitational presented by Cooper Tires. 

As we left the event we saw these donkeys along the road. Back to our hotel and we are exhausted its been a very long day.  Coffee and chocolates for a treat.
